i helped my dad do his gps mapping thing all morning (and some afternoon) !! quite fun =) and while we were driving around the city area i realized just how many porno shops there are in the city !! besides club x and barbarella's in the city centre, there's also a barbarella's in northbridge and this place called vibrations somewhere in the area bordering the city centre. not to mention the "underground book store" in freo and the "adult book exchange".

aussies are really very deprived.

point to note: the vibrations sign was complete with this vibration-y effect.

also, i was so naive i thought that the underground bookstore was *really* a bookstore underground. so i wanted to check it out. then my cousin said, "when they say underground , i think they mean underground ".

dad (very proud of himself): i bought ice cream you know, the chocolate-covered honey comb popsicles.

mum: u mean the one on offer?

dad (even more proud): ya

mum: oh .. i bought those too ..

sister (thrilled to bits): oh is that why we have 4 boxes of ice cream in the freezer .

oooh .. do i have lot to bitch about .. i have this friend who went to school with me in perth and she called the other day to say she's not coming back to perth, but going to melbourne. so she asked me to pack "some things (sic)" for her. so duh i said ok. not that i like her a lot, just that i felt a bit guilty about not calling her when i went to sg. and it's not like i didn't have the time. just couldn't be bothered. so anyway, i said ok. theeeeeeen she said "i'll send u the list of items so that u know what to pack". ok. theeeeeeeeen couple of days ago she sent me this list.. printed out it's 3 A4 pages long. and i had to do it right ?? can't back out 'coz i promised and all. so i got adit to help me. took us 2 hours today. and we couldn't even pack in her room 'coz it was like leased out to someone else. and the landlady chucked all the things in the garage. and she had things like pads, undies, toiletries .. i mean not like singapore doesn't have pads u know. and in her own words, "MULTITUDES of stationery". at least she's honest. good god.

the plus side ?? adit's just got a new flat and he needs some stuff. so he's now got a new laundry basket, some hangers and a 5 litre water tank for cooling water in summer.yay !!

plus side ?? i have for myself 2 rolls of 3M magic tape for school this year, and 2 new correction tapes. also, we have plundered her gary larson calender. to read for fun.

in a couple of hours we're goign to gelare for ice cream. i think we deserve it. it was 30++ degrees today.

setting: the outside patio. all of us are having pizza al fresco.
ladies and gentlemen, it's time for another installment of signs that my family is loopy.

we're all done with dinner. and my mum's sweeping up the dead leaves that this "tree" has shed. "tree" because i
don't know the breed/species (??)

anyhow, my dad's plucking off all the dead leaves that haven't shed yet. and he's got this soliloquy going something
like this:
"eh .. nette ah for your first year project you design our garden* ok ??" leaf stuck to his belly. looks at browning plants> "haiyah such a shame. i liked this patch here. maybe i should water
it."

"oh. dead. shit"



* the garden is really a fairly huge expanse of dead grass dotted with islands of grass-grass that the reticulation
manages to spray. also present are different varieties of dead plants no longer identifiable.
